Supreme Court Orders To Re-Conduct AIPMT

With AIPMT exam held on May 3,2015 declared void by the Apex Court more then 6.3 lakh students are awaiting the next announcement on the matter.
The Supreme Court has ordered CBSE to re-conduct the exam within 4 weeks.
A Bench of Justices R.K. Agrawal and Amitava Roy held that if the court allowed the May 3 exam to survive, a wrong message would be sent that crime pays and students would be encouraged to resort to unfair means.
It also said that the most important thing is to sustain public's faith in the exam system as fair, transparent and credible method  to evaluate the merit and worth of the candidates.

Earlier CBSE has appealed in the court suggesting that the exam should not be reconducted as more then 6 lakh students has appeared in the exam and the suspects identified are just 44.
The court took into account that it is no guarantee that the police will catch all the illegal benficiaries of the cheating scam and thus the one who will not be caught will have an advantage over the genuine candidates.
“We are aware that the abrogation of the examination would result in some inconvenience to all concerned and that some extra time would be consumed for holding a fresh examination. This, however, is the price the stakeholders would have to suffer in order to maintain the impeccable and irrefutable sanctity and credibility of a process of examination,” Justice Roy wrote in the judgment.
Earlier after the AIPMT exam held this year Rohtak Police disclosed a major scam regarding cheating in the prestigious exam.
Police reports said 358 suspected mobile numbers were used and about 300 special vests fitted with SIM cards and Bluetooth devices were sneaked into exam halls. Seven persons, including two doctors and an MBBS student, have been arrested so far.
