In a Private ceremony organised in the Rastrapati Bhawan Sachin Tendulkar and Prof. CNR Rao were awarded the Bharat Ratna for their excellent contribution to the country by achieving excellence in their respective fields.
As reported earlier by The Information Spot that the ceremony will take place on 4th Feb in our article Bharat Ratna To Sachin On Feb 4 the function took place today.
Sachin was quick to upload the photo of the ceremony on his Facebook account with a message for all his fans, which reads as follows,
"I dedicate this recognition to my mother and millions of mothers across India who have silently sacrificed their wishes and aspirations to support the dreams of their children.
I am very proud of being the son of this wonderful country and express my gratitude for all the love and support.
Congratulation to Prof. C.N.R. Rao on the Bharat Ratna and am sure that his achievement will inspire many more young minds in the country to pursue scientific research.
I will continue to strive to bring a smile to the faces of my fellow Indians even though I may not have a bat in my hand!"
