Decline in the standards of Indian media

Indian media has never been completely independent or neutral, but everyone came to know about it's real face after the recent release of press freedom index of 2013 which shows that India is going through one of it's worst phases in the matter of freedom of press.

Press in it's any form is very important in many aspects and is many ways plays a major role in the development of a country by showcasing many important news regarding the people of that country and also make them aware about the happenings of the world.
So the recent phenomenon of paid news is not by any mean a thing which should be neglected , it should be strictly condemned and some serious action need to be taken.
While Doordarshan had always been underthe influence of broadcasting ministry , some hope of fair news was given a life with the setting up of many private news channels but this incidence of showcasing news favouring a particular individual just for the sake of money is very disheartening.

Media in it's any form should be free from any influence , the birth of media was itself a revolutionary step and was  a key step for our country's development as media can easily expose anybody and can even make a person hero in some days.
In yesteryears some news channels had really created a remarkable hope after their continuous sting operations and changes in their news showing pattern were also visible accepted and appreciated but with this sole incidents not only channels but some anchors have also lost their respect.
