Bhagwad Gita To Be Introduced In Haryana Schools This Year
Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar said that the government will introduce teaching of
Bhagvad Gita in schools across the state from coming academic session.
He said “Students in schools will be taught Shlokas of Bhagvad Gita from the new academic session.”
Gita is a 700-verse Hindu scripture that is part of Hindu epic Mahabharata.
The Gita is set in a narrative framework of a dialogue between Pandava prince Arjuna and his guide charioteer Lord Krishna.
The Bhagwad Gita presents a synthesis of the Barhmanical concept of Dharma,theistic
Bhakti,the yogic idealsof Moksha through jnana,bhakti,karma and Raja yoga and the
Samkhya philosophy.
The Bhagwad Gita call for selfless action inspired many leaders of the Indian Independence movement including Bal Gangadhar Tilak & MohanDas Karamchand Gandhi.Gandhi
referred to book Gita as “spiritual dictionart”.
