The Year So Far For Bollywood

So the first half of june is over and the first 6 and a half months of the year 2015 has passed.
A new film releases every week and more than 50 films hindi films have released this year with the only Blockbuster being the content oriented,"Tanu Weds Manu Returns".
There are some hits and semi hits but still the overall business is down if we compare it with last year.

Hollywood is turning out to be major competitor of Bollywood in its major market with Hollywood Films taking a better opening then hindi ones as can be seen from the openings of Fast and Furious 7 and Avengers-Age of Ultron. These big English movies easily are among the top 5 hits in the local market of India.
Bollywood this year has given some quality cinema like Baby,Badlapur,Tanu Weds Manu,Dum Laga Ke Haisha and Dil Dhadakne Do.
But only Tanu Weds Manu went on to became a blockbuster due to exceptional story and acting also the local taste was appreciated by the audience, but the fact that it was a sequel of a hit film cannot be ignored as it helped the film in getting a good opening.
Big films of Akshay Kumar Baby and Gabbar despite of having good word of mouth and taking decent opening failed to become a hit. They did good business but still are semi-hits.
Some of the big budget films like Bombay Velvet(which is the biggest disaster in the recent times),Mr.X and Hamari Adhuri Kahani has failed miserably at the Box Office.
Relief had come from small budget hits like Dum Laga Ke Haisha and Badlapur which became successes and hopes are high from Varun's next ABCD2.
Some big films are slated to release in the next few months which include Salman's Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Akshay's Brothers.
With Salman,Akshay and Shahrukh's films releasing in the latter half of the year the business is expected to increase in the latter half.
