The Group stage of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 ended today with Pakistan winning
over Ireland in the last match of Pool B to qualify for the Quarter Finals.
With West Indies and Pakistan winning today the Quarter Finals list has been finalised.
8 teams qualified for the Quarter Finals that will start from 18th March.
Teams qualified for the Quarter Finals:
Pool A:
1)New Zealand
2)Australia
3)Sri Lanka
4)Bangladesh
Pool B:
1)India
2)South Africa
3)Pakistan
4)West Indies
India and New Zealand did not lose even a single match in the group stage and therefore were the toppers of their respective group.
Four Quarter Finals will be played as per the following schedule:
1)First Quarter Final will be played between Sri Lanka and South Africa on 18 march in Sydney.
2)Second Quarter Final will be played between India and Bangladesh on 19 march in Melbourne.
3)Third Quarter Final will be played between Australia and Pakistan on 20 march in Adelaide.
4)Last Quarter Final will be played between New Zealand and West Indies on 21 March in Wellington
The winners will move forward to the Semis.
If a match is tied,abandoned or if the match is a no-result then team that finished with
higher position in the Pool stage shall progress.
